How QR codes provide our customers with safe, contact-free property information
QR codes have been around since 1994, but were previously dismissed as a marketing gimmick, now the QR code has found its time to shine. With consumers requiring contact-free service due to Covid-19, the QR code has never been so important.
The QR code has become a perfect touch-free medium, allowing people to interact with the world around them while only using their own smartphones. We have introduced QR codes within our window displays providing our customers with instant property details, contact-free. Many consumer-focused businesses are using QR codes to display menus or direct people to booking or purchasing web pages.
Printed on posters and signs and replacing menus in restaurant and pubs, they now fit seamlessly with our day-to-day interactions. MobileIron conducted a consumer sentiment study with over 4,408 consumers to understand how QR codes are being used during the pandemic and found that 64% of respondents believe that QR codes make life easier in a touchless world*.
What is a QR Code?
A QR code stands for Quick Response code. It is a scannable barcode that links you to a specific online page such as social media profiles and digital payments etc.
How does a QR code work?
- Simply align the camera of your phone with the scannable barcode, as if you were going to take a picture of the barcode.
- As soon as your camera registers the code, a specific action like a website will be triggered.
- You will be required to either click on a link at the top of your phone redirecting you to a specific web page, or the barcode will simply redirect you to the website automatically without you needing to type a thing!
Last year the government backed the use of QR codes, urging all businesses across England and Wales to ensure they have the NHS QR code posters visibly displayed within their premises to help prevent Covid outbreaks. Traction is growing with many businesses also investing resources in QR codes; PayPal also rolled out a new feature in its mobile app that allows you to pay at restaurants, shops, etc simply by scanning a QR code with your smartphone camera.
We have implemented new systems and safety measures to ensure our customers and our staff are safe whilst continuing to offer the same level of personal customer service. We have already introduced virtual tours and virtual valuations to the services we offer our customers, now we are including QR codes for all our properties which are displayed in our windows.
Each property displayed in our windows has its own individual QR code. If a property interests you, simply scan the QR code. This will open a website page on your phone which will provide you with more information on the property, including a virtual tour. Our online virtual tours turn a property into an accurate online model, allowing you to walk through the property virtually, anytime, anywhere.
As well as offering contact-free services, our offices are still open, and you are more than welcome to come and speak with one of our friendly team members in person if preferred.
We are open but safe.
We’re still here to help you with any property needs and/or questions that you have. Contact our friendly team today.
