Celebrating 30 years with first-time buyers Jared and Dana
Nothing makes us happier than handing over the keys to an excited couple who are buying their first home.
It is a milestone moment in their lives. They’re finally seeing months or years of hard saving paying off. They now have something to call ‘home’. It’s a real honour to be a part of this journey, and it’s the reason we started our business thirty years ago.
After three decades of serving tens of thousands of customers across West Sussex, we’re proud of the positive feedback we receive.

Introducing Jared and Dana
Jared and Dana were first-time buyers who had been saving hard to be able to afford their first home together. They are keen to make it their own, already having started home improvements – and they’re excited to properly move in once the work is done.
What’s your property journey been like so far?
“This is our first home, it’s taken us years of hard work and saving to get to this point, we are so excited to finally say we own our own property. Sometimes when we turn up and walk in the front door, it feels like someone else’s house, it hasn’t really hit us yet that this is ours.
We have already started stripping the property out, our family and friends have all been along to help us, we’ve had them pulling up carpets and stripping the walls. We know exactly what we want to do with the property. We want to extend out the back to create an open-plan kitchen-diner. It’s not liveable right now; all we have are a couple of camping chairs, but we are so excited to eventually move in.”
Why did you choose Michael Jones?
“For us, the biggest thing is customer service. The service we received throughout our whole buying process was amazing. Buying a house can be really stressful and being informed and kept up to date can make the process much easier and more enjoyable – especially when it’s your first property.
The sales progression team was amazing. Jane quickly and efficiently overcame lots of stumbling blocks for us, which was so helpful.”
Would you come back to us?
“Yes, without a doubt. 100%! Michael Jones has a great name in Worthing and the surrounding areas, everyone we know talks really highly of the company.
We always go by recommendations and the amount of people who recommended Michael Jones put no doubt in our mind that we would buy or sell or let through you. Obviously, the service that we have had and the service everyone else has had has been fantastic.
Even though you’re a big company, we always felt treated as individuals. We would probably disregard your other branches anyway; more branches mean you’re doing something right. The branch that dealt with our purchase was brilliant. We never felt that we were part of a larger company. Each branch seems to be very personal and individual in its approach to its customers.”
Would you recommend us to friends and family?
“We already have! We have a friend who is using you.”
How would you describe the staff that work at Michael Jones?
“They are really easy to talk to. Some of the other people we talked to, such as solicitors, didn’t make it easy for us to understand. Where we’re so new to the process as first-time buyers, some of the terms that people use were so complicated, and it made us feel stupid for not knowing what they meant. However, the Michael Jones team were brilliant at explaining everything thoroughly and not making us feel stupid for not knowing everything. The fact that everything was broken down and made simple to understand was so helpful.”
How would you describe Michael Jones as a company?
“A professional, coordinated company, a company that will get the job done.”
