Findon Valley Gardens Fit for a Queen
Michael Jones Estate Agents were delighted to present the awards to the green fingered winners of the Royal Front Garden competition last week which was organised by the Findon Valley Residents’ Association (FVRA) to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday this year.
Findon Valley residents were invited to take part in the competition to showcase their gardening skills and get their front gardens fit for a Queen whilst also enhancing the local area with their imaginative and colourful creations.
Rachel Goff from the Michael Jones Findon branch who sponsored the event and her co judge were so impressed by the high level of the entries that they struggled to decide on one winner so a joint first prize was awarded to two outstanding gardens. The owners, James Booth from Hollingbury Gardens and Tony & Sheila Payne from Cissbury Avenue both gratefully received a £50 voucher for Wyevale Garden Centre. The runners up prize of a bottle of champagne went to Miss Jennifer Goddard for her beautiful garden in Vale Drive.
Rachel said: “It was such a pleasure to help judge this competition and we were so impressed with the hard work and skill that went into the gardens that were entered. Findon Valley is a fabulous place to live made even more beautiful by the efforts of our local gardeners.”
Based on the success of the competition, the FVRA together with Michael Jones Estate and Letting Agents hope to make it an annual event which is great news for keen Findon Valley gardeners as well as the local residents who get to enjoy the results.
