2015 has been a busy year for Michael Jones Commercial with lots of activity including increasing instructions and successful lettings in Brighton and Hove.

Ranging from office sales and lettings, freehold bar premises to new care home facilities, our commercial department have been busy working on opportunities across the city.

The improving confidence in the UK economy is beginning to signal a recovery across the South East Commercial Property Market. Over the past 12 months, we have continued to work with developers and landlords who have invested and speculatively developed a number of high profile schemes.

Industrial occupier demand has also remained very encouraging although stock levels are very low.

3663We have secured a £2m land sale to foodservice company Bidvest 3663 at Lancing Business Park.

The 4 acre industrial site has been sold to the UK based firm who will be building a brand new 45,000 sq ft regional distribution centre which will create and retain hundreds of jobs locally.

There appears to be a resurgence in the retail high street with shops that have stood vacant for months and in some cases years, are now being taken up by both national and local businesses.

The government’s recent announcement to extend the Permitted Developments Rights (PDR) have helped fuel the demand for conversion of commercial buildings into residential.

Our commercial team have been instrumental in the sale of key properties such as The Causeway Tower, Cavendish Hotel, Lister House, Abbey House and working alongside planners to bring forward much needed new homes.
