Welcome to our company market update for September

As a company we were delighted that September marked the beginning of our community events returning to normal, we attended our first fundraising event, the Care for Veterans Golf Day and took part in the Macmillan’s Coffee Morning.

I was personally thrilled to attend the Care for Veterans Golf Day along with three of our Michael Jones team members. The event consisted of a tournament and involved teams playing 18 holes on the Vardon Course, Worthing, followed by a fundraising event which raised a fantastic total of £9,430 for Care for Veterans.

We are excited to attend and host more community events over the next few months. In celebration of our 30th Anniversary we have partnered with three charities, Waders, Care for Veterans and Audio Active as well as supporting these charities with our time and resources we’ve also pledged to donate £10,000 across these fantastic local organisations.

All six of our offices took part in the Macmillan’s coffee morning by baking, buying, and selling cakes to the local community, together we raised over £500 for cancer research.

Property Market Update

The property market has remained buoyant with Nationwide reporting house prices have risen 2.1% in August. The market doesn’t seem to have been affected by the end of the stamp duty holiday, although demand has started to soften, the supply is still falling short.

This supply/demand discrepancy is the key driver of price growth along with the lasting effects Covid has had on a buyer’s desire for open space, home offices and rural locations.

TwentyCI reported sales agreed in August to be 9% above the 2017-19 average while new instructions are 19% below.

We predict price growth to remain robust until the supply of new houses coming to market catches up with the demand.

Looking Forward

As we move into October, we welcome cosy nights by the fire, darker evenings, and crisp mornings. It’s time to put the flipflops away, and dust off the winter coat that’s stored at the back of the cupboard.

Once again, we’re delighted to be sponsoring Findon Village’s Halloween Trail which will take place in the October half term. The trail is a fun family day out for the local community complete with tasty sweets.

We are dedicating the month of October to property valuations and our team will be on hand to provide you with a free, up to date valuation of your property.

Best wishes,
