Welcome to our June Company Update

This month saw our teams revel in royal celebrations and various sporting activities as well as receiving interesting property reports from Rightmove and Zoopla, highlighting what buyers are looking for most in a property and in an agent. We also have some exciting news for July in support of Worthing Pride.
Property Update
One of the country’s leading property portals Zoopla reported ‘what buyers want from their homes and estate agents’. The top of their wish list is energy efficiency, gardens and garages as well as speedy sales, which makes for an interesting insight.
Their survey of 2,600 respondents found that almost 70% of those looking at new-builds factored energy efficiency as very or extremely important to their decision, compared to 41% of resale buyers. With energy prices rising this is a massive issue and reducing the amount of wasted energy in your home is a top priority, and perhaps vendors should play on this more when listing, particularly if their home scores well in an EPC rating.
Moreover 94% wanted some form of parking, while 84% are after a garden or outdoor space. This highlights how valuable these features of your home can be. While your home may have an amazing internal décor, it is in fact these external features that are paramount to your buyer.
In addition, Zoopla also found that a speedy sale remains a big factor in buyer satisfaction, however with Rightmove’s Director, Tim Bannister claims that the average time between offer accepted and exchange is now at 150 days. This means if you want to be in your new home in time for Christmas you need to put your house on the market now!
Community
Our teams celebrated the Queens Jubilee at the start of the month with sweet treats supplied by The Flour Pot Bakery, and now at the end of the month we celebrated the longest day by playing beach volleyball and played a spot of tennis now that Wimbledon is well under way.
Looking Forward
Looking ahead to July we have something exciting happening. One of our vendors in Worthing has designed us a limited edition ‘for sale’ board showing support for Pride. As Worthing Pride takes place on the 8th July our boards will be rolled out soon! Keep your eyes peeled for our colourful limited-edition boards… they won’t be around for long!
I wish you all a lovely month of July,
Best wishes
Richard
