Welcome to our April Company Update
Summer is just around the corner and our gardens are starting to become our new lounge/dining room/kitchen/playroom – the list goes on. This change in the forecast doesn’t stop at the weather but also the property market, with predictions of a more stable market being reported.
At the beginning of the month, our team took on Tough Mudder, challenging themselves against ice-cold water, 3-storey heights, and a 10km run for good measure. Although exhausting the day was filled with laughter and cheer, everyone overcame their own fears and were determined to complete the course and do it with our three charities in mind.

We are now starting to see a turn in the property market albeit slight. The beginning of the month saw new sales instructions across the UK only 0.5% below the five-year average, which is encouraging. However, the number of new prospective buyers registering with agents was 56% higher, highlighting there was still a gap between buyers and sellers.
Now at the end of the month and the quarter, Landmark has reported that a steady increase has taken supply levels 2% over the rates we saw in 2019 (pre-covid). These figures suggest that the gap between supply and demand is appearing to narrow and as Landmarks CEO Simon Brown puts it, we are seeing the ‘beginnings of a calmer, more consistent market’.
I hope this latest information encourages any homeowner thinking of moving to make the decision to put their property on the market. This month, a team from Michael Jones is taking part in the Ham Manor Golf Day in support of our longstanding charity sponsor Care for Veterans. The day is always thoroughly enjoyed by all who attend, and brings with it a dose of healthy competition between teams, all while raising money for a very worthy cause.
